Ramón Gardella

Ramón Gardella (Buenos Aires, 1989) is a hardworking percussionist with a steady hand. His quest for challenging learning possibilities inspired him to move to Germany and major in Classical and Contemporary Percussion at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Prof. Carlos Tarcha. The young percussionist’s dedication to his craft paved the way for him to perform with the Ensemble Musikfabrik, Ensemble Tra I Tempi, Ensemble Modern Orchestra, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Bochumer Symphoniker, Bergische Symphoniker, Junge Philharmonie Köln. 

He is formal member of Kollektiv 3:6 Köln. Since October 2018 he attends his Konzertexamen degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln under the guidance of Dirk Rothbrust. He participated in important contemporary music festivals like Klangspuren 2016 (International Ensemble Modern Academy), Impuls 2017, Stockhausen Courses Kürten 2017, Ensemble Academy Freiburg 2018, pgnm_Biennale Aktueller Musik Bremen 2018, Ruhrtriennale 2018, Festival Now! 2018, Percussion Summit Bochum 2018, Acht Brücken Köln 2016/2017/2019 and worked under the guidance of Christian Dierstein, Dirk Rothbrust, Michael Pattmann, Rainer Römer, Rumi Ogawa, and Robyn Schulkowsky.

Studies in Argentina

Ramón Gardella’s talent was cultivated by several musical experiences in Argentina: he studied classical percussion at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires “Astor Piazzolla” (2007-2015), he was part of the Orchestra Academy Teatro Colón with Prof. Angel Frette and Arturo Vergara (2013-2014). He also played Timpani and Percussion in the Permanent Orchestra of the Teatro Colón (2013-2015). In addition, he studied privately with Prof. Néstor Astutti, Tristán Taboada and Marcos Serrano. 

In 2015 Ramón Gardella was granted lessons with Prof. Pablo La Porta, a prize awarded by Mozarteum Argentino. He also received scholarships to attend three International Music Festivals in Brazil: Festival Internacional de Inverno de Campos do Jordão, Festival “Música nas Montanhas” and Festival de Música de Santa Catarina, where he studied with Pedro Carneiro, Carlos Tarcha, Ricardo Bologna, Eduardo Gianesella and Fernando Chaib.
